அறம்புகழ் கேண்மை பெருமைஇந் நான்கும்
பிறன்றார' நச்சுவார்ச் சேரா; - பிறன்றாரம்
நச்சுவார்ச் சேரும் பகைபழி பாவமென்
றச்சத்தோ டிந்நாற் பொருள்.
நச்சு - இச்சி
ஒழுக்கம், புகழ், நட்பு, பெருமை ஆகிய நான்கும் பிறன் மனைவியை விரும்புவோரைச் சேராது. மாறாக, பிறன் மனைவியை இச்சிப்போருக்கு பகை, பழி, பாவம், அச்சம் ஆகிய நான்கும் வந்து சேரும்.
To those who covet other man's wife will not find these four - Virtue, fame, friendship & greatness.
Instead, those who lust after other man's wife will suffer these four - Hatred, disgrace, sin & fear.
